"Here we have the Hesse Hanau artillery under Captain Pausch during the battle 2nd Battle of Saratoga. Despite a valiant stand by the Germans , the position was eventually overrun by the patriots and most all the artillery and equipment lost. This is a little unusual for me as I did it in watercolor and gouache as I generally do scenes in oil. The water based paints leave no room for error unlike oils , so one mistake and the whole thing is undone." link From here link Amicalement Armand |
