Does anyone knows any good books about the German campaigns of pacification in the region, or good sources about the Military organization of the native tribes fought?

Here are a few:

#1 (Costly and Heavy 579 pages- coffee table book packed with all sorts of useful info….also a GREAT read!)
"The German Colonial Troops from 1889 to 1918 History-Uniforms-Equipment" by Jurgen Kraus and Thomas Muller. 2009, Verlag Militaria ISBN (English Edition) 978-3-902526-25-0

If it isn't in here, it's probably not important. Got mine at the Heer Museum in Vienna. (99 Euros!) Historical B&W and color photos of actual uniform articles on (and some not) display at the museum. The authors are affilliated with the Museum and had unlimited access to historical records and artifacts. (But worth every Euro cent if you are really wanting info on German Colonial armies!)

#2: "Colonial Armies Africa 1850 to 1918" by Peter Abbott, Foundry Books, 2006, ISBN: 1-901543-07-2

#3: "Small Wars and Skirmishes 1902-1918" by Edwin Herbert, Foundry Books, 2003, ISBN: 1-901543-05-6

Hope this helps you find what you are looking for.
