Now apologies if this has been shown here before, but, if not, this is absolute genius I think. I was gazing through Perrys' Facebook page, having been guided there by their new "assault boat" idea, when, well down, 27th July, I found this conversion.

It is so simple but transforms the plastic Perry British Infantry. They have just taken the arms from the AWI British infantry and stuck them onto the firing line usual figures. They need the tufts added, but, for centre companies anyway…that is it.

There is such a great potential for individual variation. Brilliant

yes, very good idea.

Interesting. Maybe the perrys realise their box set was rather dull compared to the more interesting victrix box…

Hello, Marc,

I agree. I am having fun with Victrix Napoleonic French and British, and crude conversions.

Taking British sergeant figures, adding arms of a French soldier at the "port," and adding a brass kurz gewehr, pike, whatever is an easy one. Add some greenstuff for cuffs, tufts on shoulders.

A kneeling British figure can be given the sergeant's right arm with musket held at the lock, up along the arm to the shoulder. Add a left arm raised, glue in a small plastic rectangle, and a drum with the head punched in, makes a sergeant handing our rounds to hard pressed rankers.

Many more possible.

I have also found the need to convert French officers to guerilla fighters, such as the "Companie de bon tireurs" of the 88th French line, shown in Colonel Eltings books with illustrations by the youngest Knoetel. (Perhaps our Army Quartermaster Dibble can add a picture!

Officer advancing in surtout is already a great figure. Give him a Spanish "belly box" for cartridges. Carve up a French grenadier head, cutting away plumes, cords, fill in plate and back to resemble an unadorned Spanish bearskin.

Give him a Brown Bess at the port.

Paint coat dark brown, green collar, cuffs and turnbacks, and get a reasonable imitation of that figure wearing an officer coat of early. I add him to an existing Portuguese Cacadores.

Love these Victrix sets!

I have also found the need to convert the spare French officers to contra-guerilla fighters, such as the "Companie de bon tireurs" of the 88th French line, shown in Colonel Eltings books with illustrations by the youngest Knoetel. (Perhaps our Army Quartermaster Dibble can add a picture!

Oh please…

Show some pics of any such conversions.

Never mind the quality of the photography, or the painting, or the finishing of the modelling.

I just love to see figure conversions with this sort of imagination. The result is totally unique. It is "yours"…..

As I recall, there are spare French Dragoon heads in the Perry plastic set. These might serve as head for the Victrix French line infantry figures to represent Dragoons a pied as in 1806 campaign. Could represent dragoons marching back to get replacement horses in a mixed unit in the rear.

I have not tried this, but had spare heads after using Victrix infantry grenadier heads with plumes and cords to do 4 of the elite company of the 16 Dragoons, 1813. Trumpeter wore rose coat, sky blue facings, white bearskin!

At 80, I have no idea of how to take pictures, and put them into the internet!

I have an AT&T "Store" near me, and a LG Cell phone, so maybe they can help.

My figures are really crude, as I have had no one to fight! My old "buds" seem to have disappeared, passed away, retired to Florida (as I came home to Pennsylnia from Texas!
