We played a fun AWI game, using Black Powder, featuring Loyalist and Patriot militia fighting each other in some colonial backwoods. This provided a good excuse to use lots of terrain and oddball AWI units, in various colorful uniforms--the only redcoats to be seen were some Americans in red! A fuller report and lots more pictures at my blog, here. link Some pics provided below. Thanks for looking!

Looks like a fun game and a nice table as well! Could you please elaborate on the orders of battle and the method used to randomize the rebel reinforcements? |

I've noticed that the basing allowed for removing casualties, I can only approve this. Beautifull landscaping by the way. |

Thanks! @Forager: The orbat was thus: Loyalists 2x Militia units, unreliable, Fire/Melee 3, Stamina 3, morale 4 1x Legion unit, First Fire, Fire/Melee 3, Stamina 3, morale 4 1x Butler's rangers unit, as above Commander, leadership 8 (we allowed the commanders to issue as many leadership tests as they wanted, even if 1 was failed) Militia Starting: 1 militia unit, unreliable, fire/melee/stamina 3, morale 4. Starting, special: 1 as above, in the militia meeting house in town. Will muster and deploy to fight after a loyalist unit has come within 18" of the town. We let militia units "self activate" with a leaderhip of 8, taking into consideration their unreliable special rule. Each turn, the militia player rolls 1D6. On a 6, they get a new unit as above, from a random table edge. If not, they roll again next turn, needing a 5 instead, a 4 on the next turn, and so on. Roll each turn. In our game this ultimately yielded 4 or so militia units. |

Table looked great. I really like the 6,5,4 rolls for reinforcements. Keeps the 'tension' of the unknown factor. "Reinforcements will come.. we're just not sure when." |
