What did they wear, same as other infantry but with blue facings and white lining on cuffs and lapels?

Latest research suggest pink tights and water wings…

The Coldstream Guards did not come over as such.
All the Guards contributed drafts from their companies which were organized as converged battalions.
So, as regular infantry with blue facings and white smallclothes.

Were the different companies from parent regiments distinguished by button placement at this time? I'd like to see someone try this in 15mm. grin

There is an interesting article about them here: link

Essentially, it argues that the uniform worn by the Brigade of Guards had undergone considerable changes to make the unit ready for campaign before they even arrived in America. So rather than wearing long coats, breeches and cocked hats they were, right from the start, wearing shortened coats stripped of the regimental lace, trousers and spatterdashes and small round hats for the battalion companies and distinctive caps for the grenadier and light companies.

There is a good discussion about the subject on a previous thread: TMP link
