I was given a collection of very nicely painted 25-28mm figures and as they are periods I don't game, I want to sell them to continue our weekly kids painting class. The figures are painted to a very nice standard. For the most part, they are what appear to be Dark Ages, King Arthur england, and American Indians. Also included are some very nice World War 1 germans/Austrians. What do you suggest as to selling these? I want to avoid ebay, if possible, as the fees are rediculuse these days, and as the money is going to a good cause, ebay should'nt get any of it(LOL). I can supply pictures, if anyone wants to see them. |

Buy a 30 day membership and post photos in the marketplace section. |

Seconded. If one wants to access the community that has been built here for personal profit, one should show appreciation for the efforts of who runs the place by at least buying a 30 day membership. Only a suggestion. |

Well, by "personal profit" do you mean my wife and I paying, mostly out of our own pocket, for the miniatures painting class for the mostly poor kids in our mostly poor town we started this summer? Which is free to these kids? Because let me tell you, we are lining our pockets doing that. Really? |

So as I was just "shamed" into re newing my memebership(snide comments aside, I have been a paying member here over the years. I just let it run out.) Anyone interested in these miniatures, telling me what they are, etc. can PM me. All snark aside, I will say again, the sale of ANYTHING I sell, as well as a good chunk of what my wife makes with her painting service(which several members here use, and highly recommend) goes to continuing our figure painting class, which was so much fun for the kids, this fall. To suggest we were "profitting" from a few dollars worth of figure sales is insulting. |

I sent you an email. I'll help if I can. |

Now, I supported John's summer activities. The kids had a great time and Mardaddy just doesn't know what he is talking about. It's sort of like saying that the HAWKS are not giving kids painted armies at Historicon to interest them in the hobby. John, send me an email. Matthew |

John, Please reach out to me when you can. I'd like to help out with the program. Best, Don |

Sorry I "snapped" like that, boys. It just seemed that "personnel profit" comment was out of line. And I thank the memebers who have been kind enough to help us keep our class going. |

Don, Matt, I don't have your email address's so contact me either by PM or at: lacourjohn@aol.com |

So a simple suggestion to renew or purchase a membership translates to "He has no idea what he is talking about" Good to know. How you spend that money you are getting is a personal thing. Good on you for doing that… But I stand by the suggestion regardless. If I was selling something to pay for my wife's hip replacement, I'd still show the appreciation to the staff here and get a membership first. YMMV. |
john lacour | 14 Sep 2016 12:29 p.m. PST |
And I did. I renewed my membership. Happy? |
Mardaddy | 14 Sep 2016 2:50 p.m. PST |
Not sure if that is a passive-aggressive recognition of my point, but what matters is whether YOU are happy with your decision. |
john lacour | 14 Sep 2016 5:33 p.m. PST |
I am. And I have been rude, as you are quite right, Mardaddy. If I want to get help from this community, I should do a bit more to support this site. |

Here we go again. Someone posts a topic and the "Thong In A Knot" crew with delusions of importance jump all over it. Mr. & Mrs. Lacour posted at length in the past about their project. It was warmly accepted and respected by many on this forum. Several people actually did support it. I believe that is where the "He has no idea what he is talking about" comment may come from. As the saying goes; Lead, follow or just get out of the way! |

I'd say rather to anyone interested in selling goods on TMP, get a membership and support TMP if you want to access members. |

I had sent a fee memebers pics and while several have voiced interest, no one seems to get back to me. If you lot need more pics, let me know. My wife handles the camera, but we can provide what you need. And I can answer any questions. |
Mardaddy | 15 Sep 2016 9:44 a.m. PST |
I appreciate the acknowledgement, and looking back, I could have framed the way I posted more graciously. |
