To clarify an earlier topic the Spartan was not a weapons platform, it was a protected means of travel. SOP was to dismount and move the Spartan to a hide area. In the defence trenches would be used for the teams. When asked if they would fire from the vehicle hatches a former Regimental Trg Officer spat tea everywhere! A Spartan is not very big and with the chaps, personal kit, water, rations etc and of course the missile systems and reloads there is not much room. Which is why cages on top of the rear hatches are utilised, an AD Spartan from Op Granby:
