Happy to reveal a little side project I've been toying with for a while.

Sandbox is a campaign supplement for FiveCore skirmish (though adaptable to other fine games as well, with little trouble).

In Sandbox, you take the role of an infantry squad leader, tasked with patrolling a neighbourhood in a hostile city.

The campaign uses random events to create your mission. Decide how to approach each "hot spot" and how to deal with it when you get there.
You might have to help out the locals with something, you may face a sniper, armed rabble or hardcore ex-regime soldiers.

Call in support.. if it gets approved or deal with it on your own.
Try to keep your grunts alive long enough to come back home.

Heavily inspired by Iraq and Afghanistan, Sandbox is basically a "slice of life" campaign.
You could run a few missions as a campaign in its own right, use it as a diversion in a larger campaign or for a simple solitaire or "same side" game.

It's not intended to be an exacting simulation of anything but to create an interesting gaming situation that matches the accounts you can find in many books and news stories.

I should add, since it uses FiveCore for the rules, there's nothing preventing you from sending some star marines to patrol an occupied Zenarf world, captured during the 9th Galactic Border War.

To be honest I find refighting the 9th Galactic Border War a bit dull. All the action took place in the 8th. Thats what the cool kids game. But I take your point ;-0

Spoken like a true Zenarf apologist!
The Ugtralian Alliance will rise again!

Getting reliable uniform references for the 8th Galactic Border War is difficult. Unless you use the book by Golgorth Rhea the Wise, you really risk getting the piping color of the shoulder pads the wrong shade of puce. Just sayin'. (Like the idea of the supplement. Will get it.)

The real problem is finding Zenarf 3rd Brigade infantry in 17.3mm scale.

(And thanks :-) I hope it doesn't disappoint, I had a lot of fun with it during testing though I did in fact test it with scifi troops)

We've been playing on the floor, since I didn't have a table in our new house :)

Today, that's fixed though. Finally got a decent sized table set up (well, the spray paint is drying right now)

Excellent, progress!

And congrats, I see you actually put an American on the cover!

I figured it was about time :-)

Company Command had a yankee as well.
