Another overview of Colours on the blog:

A really good show this year, with lots of impressive games being actually played rather than just presented and a nice, chilled out atmosphere.

:O)

Very much agree about the games, a lot more action than you normally see on the big set piece games at shows. Now all we need is for the people putting on the games to realise that a little more communication with the public; handouts, displays or a designated spokesperson, would be good and we will have nothing (?) to complain about.

Overall lots of interesting games and far too much to spend my money on.

Agree remarks above and I'd add a mention for the Dux Bellorum game – some excellent painted figures – and Dr. Sabin's Lost Battles game. For me, though, the best looking game was the relief of Kut.

Jim's very kindly commented on the positive aspects of the show. There are several other points we will be addressing next year, though there's not much we could do about the weather; that's a roll of the dice.

Regards engagement with the public, we'll try to maintain our focus on participation games as a means of drawing new wargamers into the hobby.

I and a few others were concerned early on that some of the "buzz" of the show was missing from previous years but by lunchtime it was, to me, firing in all cylinders. The weather didn't impact on it at all as far as just was concerned, apart from when the door near us to the terrace opened and our game sheets blew away :)

I agree it was a good show a couple more traders would have been nice (may be it was just a couple I had hoped to see were not there). The Games were good but as stated by Andoreth it would be nice had the people running them been more engaging.

Still it was a good show well done NRWS
