We got together this past Labor Day weekend for a much needed game of Black Powder. I set the table up for a fictional Siege of Gorlitz, May 1813. The Prussians and Austrians under Blücher were tasked with throwing the French and Ney out of the town. Playing with an 8'x 4' foot table, we cut all movement and shooting ranges by 2/3. The Prussians began by charging across the fields, taking minimum casualties from the waiting French. They began their escalade as the Austrians bombarded the other side of the town. With French reinforcements on the way, they knew that the storm had to be quick, or else the cavalry coming over the ridge would have a field day. Wave after wave of my men hit the wall, and finally pushed the French back, but the foothold was too little too late. The reserves had arrived and were successful in lifting the siege.

Excellent layout and very interesting Napoleonic battle. I like to find out what manufacturer makes your flags. Thanks! |

Thanks! My Prussians are a mix of Perry, Warlord and Calpe. The French and Austrians are a mix of Perry and Victrix I believe. They all proudly fight along side each other. |

Bonjour, Greetings from the centre of France. Great looking game and Calpe's Prussians are the best! Your pictures remind me that I must prioritise improving my terrain this year. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Paul |

Thank you all for the kind words! The Prussian flags, and I believe the majority of the other nation's are from GMB. Personally I use a glue stick liberally on both sides of the flag, wrap it around the pole and then use the handle of a paintbrush to add the waves and folds. After it drys, I paint the edges in the appropriate color. |

PentexRX8 Great set up. And I really liked the ford piece. However, a trick of the camera I'm sure, but the French artillery crew and cannon, centre-left in image 7, look remarkably as if they are hovering? |

Gazzola- yes, they certainly do haha. I hadn't noticed that. The two city tiles beveled up at the point where they meet and the road goes down. I think that's what caused that illusion. I haven't mastered levitation… Yet! |
