Any suggestions for basing 1/3000 WW2 ships. Ideas/pics greatly appreciated. Thanks for any assistance.

I use bases from ODGW forb1:2400 ships. They are clear acrylic with an etched wave pattern. I like them.

What's ODGW, Lascaris? I'm pretty keen for some 1/3000 basing tips too. Great timing thanks, GalvinM!

I just use mdf bases with painted sea scape effect

but you could do worse than check out Yarkshire Gamers posts and blog for some spiffy basing effects:

I base mine on either artist's mounting card or on modelling ply. Paint the base with acrylic paints: e.g.

Mine are from Warbases war-bases.co.uk

Nice, clean laser cut in 2mm or 3mm mdf.

I base mine on thin MDF, painted a dark blue/green. Label with ship name on back of base, then use artist's acrylic texture gel to give a water effect. Light dry brush with white to highlight bow wave and wake.

I use 2mm plasti-card, then stick on heavily creased baking/grease-proof paper before painting them up. The crinkles give a nice effect and I've added a tiny amount of rough polyfiller to the bow and stern to give some more sea effects.
