What is the best way to paint gas mask lenses on 15 MM figures?

Silver, let it dry then (after matt varnish) Tamiya smoke (or coloured) lacquer.

It's what I do on visors and lamps as well.

What John said (I think he's the one who told me how), though I sometimes mix blue in with the silver.
