Anyone here play it? Looks pretty awesome but I have never even seen it played. Opinions would be welcome.

I 'LOVE' it Michael, have the board game plus expansions as well as the steam game. Plays identical to the Steam game so perhaps give that a little tickle before investing in the print version. |

I haven't written a review on my blog (it is long overdue), but I really like the game. I had a chance to do the Kickstarter but I was doing Sergeant Miniatures Game at the time and I did not want to do two WWII tactical games. Mistake. I would have gotten a lot more game for less, but oh well. Since buying and playing the basic game I have joined in on the follow-on Kickstarters and have really enjoyed it. I also did the beta for HoN on the iPad. I play it online with friends who have PCs or iPads. Great fun. Note that most of the scenarios are VERY close quarters, which can surprise some people. This is Hollywood WWII after all. To make it less Hollywood, I have read that some people play without the cards, as that is where a lot of the heroics come into play. You can also ban certain characters if you want to tone it down (like SGT Rock). Have fun! |

There's a review in Warning Order Issue 40 around page 20: PDF link We found that it was a great looking game that played pretty well. Some of the scenarios are cartoonish as are the hero drawings, but those can be safely ignored. The hardest part was getting used to all of the symbols on the units of which there are quite a few. They also make a ton of supplements so you can drop a lot of money on this game if you like it. |

It looks like a lot of fun. Has anyone adapted Heroes for a miniatures game? |

This looks insanely cool. |

Big Red, Because the counters have a fair bit of information, it would be somewhat difficult to convert to miniatures, I think. You could put it on the stand, but as others have said, there are symbols that represents special rules. Also, many units have two states (full strength and degraded), each represented by one side of the counter. That might be hard to replicate also. |

I haven't enjoyed it that much. It has been a while, so don't have detailed memory, but games didn't have the enjoyment that miniatures games or other boardgames have had. (I like the Band of Brothers games and Combat Commander.) If someone is in Massachusetts (because it is a heavy box), I'd be happy to sell mine. I mention the location because it is a heavy box and I suspect shipping would be expensive. andy |

It's a fast and fun game that feels like a miniature game. The counters are all oversized and the cartoon artwork on them are very colorful and characterful. It's one board game that I would not bother substituting with miniatures because it already has great visual style and impact. Plus, it's essentially a miniature game already (though two-dimensional) because everything (including infantry) is shown top-down.

How is this in comparison to Conflict of Heroes? Is this game soloable? |
The Shadow | 07 May 2017 7:14 a.m. PST |
It's nowhere near the same as COH. It is *very* solo-able if you get the PC version. The AI is pretty good. I don't play the board version anymore. I only play the PC version. |
