When did WD stop having issue numbers ?

haywire05 Sep 2016 11:10 a.m. PST

When White Dwarf became weekly they "stopped" having numbers. Then they started having numbers again after a few months. Now the new monthly doesn't have a number.

actually looking back at some of my covers, maybe as far back as 2012

Strange decision. All sorts of cynical reasons are popping through my head but it makes no sense to rattle them off here. I wonder what my issues 1 – 12 in a binder are worth nowadays ?

Original White Dwarf that was monthly went to the high 300's. I think 380's actually. Then in its last 12 – 15 months changed from numbers to a Month/Year notation. Nov 2012 Dec 2012 Jan 2013
Then the White Dwarf Weekly started and did have numbers right off the back. The Weekly went from 1 to 131 I think it was.
Now White Dwarf Monthly is back and using numbers from the get go.
Only times there were no numbers were the months before the Weekly started.
Issues 1-12 you have will depend which series they are from. If they are the Weekly versions not so much.
But if you have 12 issues of the original you could get some nice coin for them.

Still will not be as good as it was in the early to mid 1990's.

Don't give it a chance or nothing.
Judging after one issue? Only been out a few days.
Have you read the new issue with an open mind?

I think the new WD is one of their best yet. Whatever material they are using for the pages works. Great layout with the right amount of fluff. I would like to see a section on rumors. The painting sections are awesome.
