Suppose one wanted to start a new figure range of 40mm War of the Roses figures with skirmish rules to support it how many different figures would that comprise? Assuming in 40mm heads and arms and weapons could interchange you think maybe 16 different mounted and 16 different foot torsos plus horses and specialty figures would do it? Pluses a few sets of different weapons types that interchange. Maybe 16 different heads that fit foot and mounted? |

Lots and lots……. A sculpture chargers per fig….weapon too A master mould……. A 28 mm mould will take 12 or so figs less for larger scales A prod mould…… Again depends on the figs….. Think you need to work out what you want to do…… You need to speak to so producers…. |

But if you get it organised do let us know. SWMBO would just LOVE WOTR in 40mm. |

Just thinking more than planning so far With 40mm could you do heads with helmets, arms, torsos, and legs (mounted and not) all interchangeable? In metal but kind of like plastic so like a sprue of heads, one of weapons, one of arms, etc. not everything would match I mean cloth covered arms or hose covered legs wouldn't work with a German style armored torso but most weapons should interchange and a lot of heads |

We are planning to move into that period with our 40mm Vanguard range. |

Hi Doug How soon? I looked over your range and like it but the periods too early. The quality of the sculpts looks good though so i will be buying the WotR figs |

Perrys have put out their 28 mm plastic range (5 boxes) that might make a good reference point. Altogether those sets provide 32 different bodies (24 on foot, 12 mounted), approximately 70 different heads, and a lot of different arms. However, if you want to try doing multi-part metal models in 40 mm, you probably need to pay quite some attention to the ease of assembly – or otherwise the customers might need to do a whole lot of pinning to ensure that their figures stay together. |

I know if the Perrys cartographed (is that the word?) their WOTR 28mm sets into 54mm, oh God, I would be over that like a fat kid in a cake shop. Hope they never do! John |

I think your wallet and bank account are likely to remain safe, since the Perrys do not seem to have shown much interest for 54 mm figures (especially in plastic). Victrix did some of their early Napoleonic kits both in 28 mm and 54 mm plastic, though later on they seem to have concentrated mostly on 28 mm. (And the word you are looking for might be "pantograph". Maybe.) |

Aaaaah! When will we start? Hummmmm. Well my designer wants to start soon but I am holding him back because I want to complete some more figures in the period that we are already doing for the Vanguard range. So,no date yet. |

Please let's campaign to prevent the Perrys from issuing their WOTR stuff in 54mm. SWMBO would have to have them and I'd have to pay somebody to paint them |
