Gamed at Historicon in a Nappy game where the Austrians had to keep the French from getting their wagon train. Also game "Bolt Action!" with its penchant for "Objectives." So, was thinking… "Ahhiyawwa" (Mycenaean, or Achean) "raiders" near Troy, etc., looking for loot, and the "Wilusan" (Trojan) warriors have to keep them from getting the horses, cattle and WOMEN! Or, the Mycenaeans now find the sandal is on the other foot, and the "barbarians" ("Sea Peoples" and/or Doric Greeks) are after THEIR horses, cattle and WOMEN! I know Foundry has one pack of "Trojan" women in Bronze Age Aegean (Minoan-style) "Court Dress," and Redoubt has "Helen" in the same dress. Foundry also has a pack of "Hittite" casualties and civilians (though the civvies look much more like "Syrians" or Canaanites!). No-one I know of makes "Mycenaeans/Achaean Civilians" as distinct from the Foundry "Trojan Women." Foundry DOES have another pack of "Helen and her Women" in their "Mythology" lineup, but they really look to me like Classical Greek women. It's just that they're showing "extra skin." No stole (or "whatever") over their "chiton?" Anyone think of anyone else that makes suitable Bronze Age Aegean-region women (oh, and old men and children!!)??? I've got some Foundry cattle, but that is so… BORING! |

Redoubt has a Mycenaean Helen of Troy figure, and a Priam. Maybe Some of Eureka's Amazons might work. |

The BUG!! I would not do that to you guys! Not on purpose… Yes, I mentioned I knew of the Redoubt "Helen" in what I have seen some scholars refer to as "Court Dress." I will take another look at Eureka -- I thought they only had "Amazon warriors" though? Thanks for the tip on BTD. Seems they have a sale AND a US partner now?? In doing a little google-search, I think I can use the two packs of Greek civilians if I paint their "Mycenaean Chitons" with vivid colors throughout for the wealthy, and at least with a vivid design at the hems for the hoi-poloi. Unfortunately, I missed the Croc' games KS, so no Croc' Helen -- or Amazons! -- for my project. Sigh… |

"In a West End town in a dead end world, "The East End boys and West End girls, "West… End… girls." Umm, I don't get it… West End Girls? Aside from the fact West End went "belly up" ca. 1998, is the idea to find "after market" -- sort of, "Achilles and Hector meet Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader in the 29th Dimension?" Maybe something else was meant? |

Redoubt make some very nice figures, but their Helen of troy (Sparta) would not launch any ships to my mind.

When she is painted like a meat cutting diagram (I hate that style), I can see your point. |

"Don't we all" what? Want more "laborers, crafts-persons, artizans, and farmers" -- the "little people" of the Mycenaean World, from who's pain, sweat and toil, and on who's "backs," those lay-abouts like Hector, Achilles and Helen rested their own lives of luxury and ease?? "I" certainly do!!!!!! |
