Looks pretty cool:

Seems logical to use Bolt Action rules for this instead of coming up with a new set of rules – also makes it easy for folks to use their Bolt Action figs and add a bit of weirdness!

The only thing I find terribly odd is that in USD the cost of the PDF and the Hardcover rulebook are the same ($40).

Yea I'm thinking about trying this one. Bolt Action seems interesting.

I'd suggest hanging out for Bolt Action Mk.2.

Konflikt just adds a couple of 'weird' units to standard Bolt Action & I'd guess most people will use their existing figures with 'counts as' – after all, how many werewolf figures does the world need & Dust has (IMHO) nicer and better walker models.

Konflikt rules are not exactly the same as Bolt Action. They are – in my humble opinion – more interesting and better, even ignoring the weird stuff.

Units that have not activated yet, have a lot of different reactions possible to them. That mechanism is lifted from Gates of Antares. Haven't played K47 yet, but I'm thinking this little addition to BA will make the game more interesting and fluid.

Also, when units accumulate pins, the pins do not disappear when they are assaulted.

Again, haven't played K47 yet, but honestly I prefer them over BA for vanilla WW2.

(Oh. And you can get the hardback rules for US$30, no tax and no shipping from the Book Depository).

What scale are the minis in ?
Are they 15mm or 28-32mm ? Or something else ?

Thanks.

Been looking at this, my 2nd ed Bolt action rulebook is on the way but some parts of K47 just seem to work better (like close assult) Will see if they merge down the road as 2 different sets of rules ALMOST alike can get confusing.

What scale are the minis in ?
They are (unsurprisingly) compatible with Bolt Action so officially 28mm. In fact, starter sets for K47 contain plastic BA infantry minis.

Brother Jim: They were originally 15mm but they have recently focused on to 28mm to match up with Warlord. Accordingly they will be going back to 15mm next year after the initial 28mm is done.

Sounds like they woke up and realized Flames of war went too tank heavy and is tapering off. Bolt Action is still a strong game and growing. Not sure if 15 MM will work well.

tnjrp23 Sep 2016 9:24 p.m. PST

Clockwork Goblin who started the minis line had 15mm versions going (not currently available, no doubt due to a competition clause in their deal with Warlord) so they would likely be willing to push an add-on/expansion/whatever for that scale.

Uses several very good ideas from Gates. Highly recommended over Bolt2 – even if your just going to play WWII w/o "47" stuff.
