Its been a while since I played but its surprisingly deep. The rules are actually pretty dense, for better or worse. They take advantage of the ability to write on the cards very well. Orders can be pretty complex since the card allows you to keep track. They have a kind of code you put on the card. Like M for move, S for shoot, and C for charge, but you can do things like use the code to say move forward until you get to within 12" and then shoot until the enemy gets within 4" then charge, or move to this piece of terrain and hold, unless attacked on the way. That kind of thing. Its pretty neat, but only after you figure out how to do it all lol

I don't recall there being here units. not sure.

I only played about 5 games because it was hard for me to learn, and also because the cards were to difficult to keep from sliding around on the table when they'd get bumped, which happens all the time, being ancients/fantasy.
