Further thoughts on Celtic chariots and how they were used on my blog. I'm thinking Piquet style of course but users of other rules may find it interesting. There are also some pics these ones are of Picts so its pretty much the end of the chariot era.

I always thought the Picts having chariots for battle a bit odd, I mean they come from a mainly hilly/ mountains terrain. I can see them being used as transport but in battle I'm not sure. The British tribes in the south have flatter terrain and they were used very well against the Romans as we all know and yes I know there are some flat areas in the Scottish highlands but is there enough for chariot usage? |

The Picts were not confined to the highland areas of Scotland. Also as Caesar points out British chariots did not require flat ground to operate. I think the last reference we have to chariots in Britain is 5th century and from Wales. We don't know what type of chariot though. |
