There are no less than eight Napoleonic themed articles in the recent magazine – Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy, Issue 86, nine if you include the four pages covering different scale Napoleonic Russian miniatures on offer.

They are mainly Russian related, while others are Swedish, Finnish and Polish themed. The articles are okay, although I found them low on detail in terms of knowing what actually happened in the real battles some of the games were based on. That's just a personal viewpoint however, and I'm sure many wargamers will not be bothered with that.

However, the article based on the Finnish War of 1808, did get me researching the Battles of Oravais and Osmo. Other articles include one on painting up Russian infantry for a diorama, and one on building and painting a Russian redoubt.

As a Napoleonic wargamer it was great to see a magazine containing more than one article covering the period.
