Anything in a picklehaube looks cool, then perhaps French curassier.

The Blue Puttees….

Technically NOT a Canadian regiment as Newfoundland was still a Crown Colony.

Just saying.

If it was me wearing it then it would be the one that provided the best camoflauge!

The Belgian units with the top hats. I think they are Chasseurs? A little rusty on my Great War…

Scots Highlanders. If I had to pick a regiment, it would be the Cameron or Gordon Highlanders. Or maybe the Liverpool Scottish territorials. Without the silly kilt aprons.

Coolest? French cuirassiers followed by Zouaves

German Uhlans not so bad either

Highlanders are great

But – alternate thought – how about the Cossacks of the Guard?

God Save The Czar!

German hussars. Hussar uniform – all dyed feldgrau. It makes no sense, but it's brilliant!

Well, gotta admit that's a mighty fine chapeau! No glengarry or tam o'shanter, but it's got class and it definitely says, "Look at me!"

My vote is for the Imperial German Marines – who had not yet received the field grey uniforms and went to war in their home service dress.

BTW – Piper 909 – as a kid my next door neighbor served in the Liverpool Scottish – joined up in 1914, captured in 1916 and spent the rest of the war as a POW. Had some interesting tales of life as a POW.
