In my opinion, the most elaborate uniforms the army of Great Britain ever fielded were the Highland Regiments. The most fanciful of these uniforms were in the field during the Crimean War 1854-56. Here is a shot of my most recent addition and final regiment of the Highland Brigade. It is Sir Colin Campbell leading the 42nd Regiment of Foot, The Black Watch, into battle at the Alma. Just a few shots to whet the appetite of folks attending Hurricon next month. These lads will be storming the heights in our big game of the Battle of the Alma. They are 28mm Great War figures.

Great figures, but, if I may, should not the colours be the other way around? The Queen's colour should be to the right of the regimental colour.

Yes, my figures are based individually and the picture came out better with the flags reversed. The shadow play just wasn't good when arranged that way.

By God , those are outstanding. Tells us what rules you use

ACWBill29 Aug 2016 2:49 a.m. PST

I use my own set of rules entitled Saber & Musket. We developed these for fast play convention rules and they are based on dice differential. We are now on version 14. thank you for the kind words.

Beautiful figures and painting!

How dare you reverse the colors – what were you thinking? (I don't have to worry about that because I never include the regimental color. I'm sure there's a special corner of wargamer's hell waiting for me for doing that….)

I guess I will be waiting there for you! ; )

We will have live music from The Doors and Jimi Hendrix while we game. It'll be a "Hell of a time".

Jimi and Jim come back from the dead? Most amazing. Why not make it a threesome? Call Janis too.

Very nice figures, by the way.

Tried to get Janis, but I couldn't wake her up. : )
