Well, I FINALLY joined the two war-games tables together into a single table! Come on by and see what I've done so far… a bit more to go; I've got to make some more buildings, and get a few of my orchards together, and the rest. link |

I want one! Well actually, I'd like both. Great stuff. |

Thanks guys! Only issue right now is that everything is very parallel/perpendicular to the table itself… but I am not sure I can recover from that. I've got to give it a good looking at. I did find an entire other shaker of grass shake, so that will help a LOT. Any recommendations VERY welcome!:D |

A very nice set up you have there. We play a lot of late 17th century/early 18th century10mm on a 10 x 5 table which one of our group has recently built. Battles actually look like the contemporary prints and allow some tactical variation. With the ground scale we use (12cm represents 800 paces) the table represents about 8 to 10 miles, so the big battles like Neerwinden, Blenheim, Ramillies etc can be played. |

Ah, five feet would be nice… I find that four wide is just a touch shallow:) |

Looks good! Go with 60mm= 100m and you get a 2k meter deep battlefield. |

I know from experience wider would be better but if it cramps the human space its not good. |

Only issue right now is that everything is very parallel/perpendicular to the table itself… Not everything. The far table in that picture above is nicely skewed diagonally, which gives it a "slice of the map" look, but the near table with the parallel ridges looks very regular. YOu could just skew one or both of those ridges to be more diagonal if it bothers you. A valley between ridges that narrows toward one end can make for interesting grand tactical issues too. - Ix |

You need some cup holders below the table to hold quart bottles of beer. A small refrigerator in the center to hold a small keg of beer would come next. |

Okay, I turned the road a bit on the near end, and twisted the ridge a bit too, to make it wider at one end and more narrow at the other. A bit better? Got a bit more work to do.
And no cup holders… Although you can see the fridge, well stocked with beer, soda, water, and a variety of chips and sweets in the back here!:) |

That table looks nice. I can hear the birds singing and feel the breeze on my face when I look at it. :-) - Ix PS: Cupholders would be an awesome addition. You put all that work into making a table lip, you should take advantage of it! I've always wanted one of those… |
