Can anyone suggest a complete line lf Franco-Prussian War figures in 25 or 28mm? Prussians, Bavarians, etc. Thanks! |

The only Complete line is Foundry. Northstar has Prussians as does Castaway..Battlehonors has French as does Footsore.. |

Castaway Arts (Australia) has Prussian (no other German allies) infantry and gunners and French infantry and gunners, as well as some cavalry for both nations, but not all cavalry types. But we've put together FPW armies using many different manufacturers and, while not necessarily together in the same battalions, the differences seem to melt away on the battlefield. You can see some older battle reports here: link link And from my blog: link Jim |

Mirliton has good range of French, as well as full ranges for 1859-1860. Recast has many of the old 25mm Minifig FP range. |

I have a mix also ,I like the contrast.Col Campell like the collection,I painted the IX Corps also. I used some old Frontier Wurtemburgers ,built up their kepis to Shakos for the 25th div. Hessian jaegers ,because they had those shoulder rolls. |

My stuff is Wargames Foundry, with some Battle Honors. Frontier used to have a really neat line of figures for the FPW. Sadly, I don't think they're available anywhere now. |

Wargames Foundry, Footsore, Castaway, Eureka, Battle Honours, North Star 1866, Mirliton all feature in my Armies, the new range from Eagles of Empire do not yet feature, because they have not been painted, but very nice they are too! I even have some Redoubt ACW Zouaves. Ironclad miniatures do some chaps who are perfect for the Mecklenburg contingent.

Apart from Foundry, this period does seem to be the graveyard of incomplete ranges.Foundry is slightly smaller but if you game at the level of young Nick above, I don't think you really can see the difference? |

Beautiful set-up. Love the railroad tracks. Always wanted to do this with my 20mm FPW. |

Got most of my painted Foundry from gamers in Britain. Odds and ends from Americans. Nice set up Nick. You gentlemen don't hesitate to put on a monster game. But we're getting much better at it as time goes on. |

Foundry and Battle Honours seconded! (however I couldn't resist some of what are now North Star, with extra officers by From Waterloo to Mons.(Come back FWTM, all is forgiven!) Incidentally, I like Footsore sculpts and have 3 armies from when Bill was Musketeer Miniatures, but if you wait for a range (never mind a FPW one), you will wait a good few years. Armies 2&3 came from Gripping Beast when they ran things – in 2 weeks each time. Army 1 took 3 years in dribs and drabs from Bill. I looked at the web shop a moment ago and see neither GNW nor FPW represented at all any more. |
