I couldn't help but think that they are also crude compared with some of the excellent stuff that's available in 6mm.

I mean, I understand the notion of moving up in scale if you want to see your figures and models better. But if they don't look as good, what's the point in seeing them?

That might sound a bit harsh, and I don't intend it to. But I do genuinely wonder what is the reason for going to a larger scale when the smaller scale stuff looks better…

I have a friend who has a massive (and I mean massive- 50,000+ and growing) Napoleonic collection in 10 mm.. His reasoning being that they WERE superior in detail to 6mm for that period.
Not an unreasonable case.
When he wanted to move into WWII he also went 10mm because of his huge existing terrain set-up
