Hey all! Well, despite a really bad finger injury with a saw, I've gotten a bit done on the Sharpe commission. Come on over to the blog to check out more, including what is still left to do!:) link Thanks! |

Looking good there Lord Ash, be careful and look after those digits. |

I see you didn't grind off the pelisse. I like the dragoon trousers, like Sharpe took off a dead Frenchie in the early books. |

Yeah, the pelisse was a bridge too far, and thankfully the person for whom I am painting them was fine with it. I did add the scar, though!:) |

What figure did you decide on for Major Hogan? |

The Bugle badge should be White metal, unless that is, It's brass in the Sharpe series. Paul :) |

Hey guys! Ah, white metal! See, I thought so! I don't know, I looked up the uniform online and it was brass, but I remember thinking "Hm, that doesn't feel right." I'll get it changed. S, I ended up using this figure:
I'll get some work done on them today and post some more in a bit! Thanks all for the help, advice, and to one particular member for the French packs and poached animals!:) |

Good choice for Hogan. The cape makes the figure. Who makes it? Thanks |

Without even checking…Front Rank. One of their better mounted figures….purely because he has his right arm into his thorax. Once they go "heroic" they produce arms thicker than the figure's legs and arising from the side of his ribcage. This is a really nice model, moulding, casting. |

Err! Sorry about my sarcastic last. I can see why you got it wrong especially as re-enactor groups and many illustrators have done likewise so it's not hard to be led astray. And just to add that 'aside, you have done an excellent paint-job on your Sharpe commission. The mounted General is a fine example of artwork in this scale. Can I add that the rifle slings should be black and the powder horn cord, rifle green. The gentleman to 'our' right of the officer should have black straps to his backpack. This Royal Mail stamp is a pretty accurate reconstruction.

Oh, I didn't mind at all,the show is a bit painful and full of inaccuracies so I understood! The slings kills me though… I didn't notice that, and I loved the pop of white. I can make the changes though. Thanks for the keen eye!:) Oh, and only because Sharpe himself would never wear a pelisse. A few of them have white straps because they are wearing French packs; that's why some do:) I didn't paint that mounted figure; that's the front rank paint job. Mine won't be as good:) |
