For rules that run 1 squad = 1 stand how they represent Polish squads? These are big squads but have one LMG per squad so if they were to be represented by two team stands one would get the LMG and thus have more firepower.
If the squad was to be represented by a single stand would they get two step casualties instead of 1 for a regular 8-10 man squad?

How big?

Honestly, if they operate as a single tactical unit, I'd be tempted to just run them as a single squad, regardless of how many men are in it – most of their firepower comes from the LMG and if/when the section commander gets hit, they are all going to run away or hide anyway.

If they regularly split into a rifle section and an LMG section like (Italians), then run them as two stands.

Pretty big squads [19 men] with one BAR per squad.

It's probably necessary to split them into 2 types – BAR group or maybe 8 men and a rifle group of 10. Sgt squad leader separate or commanding whichever seems best.

Right. The BAR barely counts as a machine gun, so yes, two rifle sections.

The higher the morale, the lesser the need for NCO control, the bigger the squad.

Thus Soviet squads were smallest and thats why Soviets had highest ratio of young officer per soldier (even to 1/4).

Thus US elite parasquads were bigger then infantry.

Poles had in 1939 unbelievable high morale (defending freshly regain indepedendce; overpropagandized population; kamikadze units of 5000 link ).

Lots of recruits and not enough of NCO/officers/LMGs also pushed into such organization.

The bigger the squad, the less probable is the loss of so precious (in relatively poor Poland) LMG.

The human buffer of extra soldier also help in melee fight, for which Poles trained intensively and with good results (most CC in 1939 were won by Poles).

In 1939 those big squads usualy were used as one due to not enough effective leaders – splitting of squads occur rarely. Just like in other un-elite armies.

in crossfire we counted them as one squad but with a +1 in assault.

But then there are stacking factors per house or transport.
What do you do there?

Mixed type squads is good for my miniatures game Panzer War, but in the computer game I help with can't have mixed squad platoons.

I found this squad configuration:

1 NCO (Squad Leader)

1st Rifle Team: (7 men)
1 Lance Corporal (Asst Squad Leader)
1 Corporal
5 Riflemen

2nd Rifle Team: (6 men)
1 Corporal
5 Riflemen

MG Team (4 men)
1 Corporal (Team Leader)
1 Gunner

Mobius – We pretty much never use transports in Crossfire, but if it came up, I'd probably figure they'll be a few guys short in any event (between war losses and incomplete mobilization).
