In the Donbass region, Ukrainian heroes have repulsed an attack by Novorossian "guerrillas" (actually Russian 76th Airborne troops), in a very sharp skirmish, at a roadblock.
6 x Ukrainian BMD-1s maintaining the roadblock manage to destroy 4 x enemy BMD-2s, while losing three of their number.
One of the Ukrainian officers at the scene noted, "It was a short, sharp fight, and we were fortunate to quickly recover, after initially being surprised by the enemy assault. The battle could have gone either way".
