Howdy all! This not only looks like an interesting action war movie based around the Soviet Hero Myth of "Panfilov's 28" (who may or may not have been real people, which doesn't detract any more from the hell Russian/Soviet soldiers went through and what they did than "Saving Private Ryan"'s mythmaking does for US soliders at Normandy), but also it's interesting in that Gaijin Entertainment, which does the War Thunder WW2 MMO, is listed as a joint producer of the movie. That's really cool! We have seen very successful games make the transition to the Big Screen, from the upcoming World of Warcraft movie to the horribly awesome Mario Brothers movie of thr 1980s -- but I can't recall when a computer game company became involved in an entertainment project *not* directly related to their game. So way to go Gaijin! I hope this movie is successful enough that they will back more and more original content -- movies, documentaries, etc., in the future.

Whoa…that looks terrific. The tanks, Pz IIIs and Pz IVs look amazing. I hate it when they speak English with an accent. I'd rather read the sub-titles. So, this is cool. Thanks for posting. |

Trailer looks good but the last two Russian war movies I have seen were WAY too melodramatic – like bad versions of US movies made during WWII. Those particular two were the Stalingrad movie and the one about Afghanistan. |
