I realize this has been done several time before. I had the opportunity to teach a new player last week. Oddly we had semi historical results and some could say the British faired better than history. link Enjoy! |

Always a great battle to introduce a new player to naval games or to try out some new rules. No aircraft, no submarines, just surface ships. |

Agreed, If you look close the mat is pre-marked for Denmark Strait, River Plate, and Empress Augusta Bay. All surface engagements and can be played in under 2 hours for introducing new players. Naval Thunder excels in surface actions which there were plenty of, but is weak on the Air rules which I understand some like to include. |

Cracking game and AAR! Done this several times with different rulesets and the results were: Victory at Sea, Kriegsmarine win, Battlestations! Battlestations!, Kriegsmarine win, General Quarters 1, Royal Navy win. Love to see how others fared. And the models and markers look great too. Cheers for sharing, Nick |

SeeKrieg IV. Draw. After 2 real time hours and maybe 40 battle minutes neither side had materially hurt the other. Poor sob running the Bismarck couldn't hit a bull in the butt with a base fiddle. |

Naval Thunder: RN victory. With the PoW out of action, the Prinz Eugen sunk and both Bismarck and Hood with all main guns disabled the latter ran in close and torpedoed the Bismarck! I doubt either RN ships would have seen action again in WWII, so a qualified victory. |

Last time I played this scenario with my own rules it was so close to actuality it was uncanny. Hood suffered a magazine explosion during turn 2 and Bismarck lost speed following a hit by Price of Wales. The main difference was PoW lost the use of part of her main armament, in addition to the "teething troubles", which were factored in. |
