imgur.com/a/AFkS1 There are a number of rumours that the current Betrayal At Calth boxed set will go out of production relatively soon. The release of the component parts is thought by some to be a herald of this. That would be a shame. I bought two of them, which is enough for me now, but it would be nice to have them around in the future in case I need some more. However it looks like this sprue is indicative that, if they are not putting out a whole new set/game, then they are expanding the 30K plastic line. I'd love to see a Battle of Prospero set pitting the Space Puppies against the Thousand Songs. The history of the Thousand Sons has always been one of the more interesting stories to come out of the Heresy. They were a loyal group that couldn't help but disobeying this one simple rule. And their leader ends up being responsible for causing far more damage than Horus could have hoped to have accomplished with his rebellion. All in the name of serving the Emperor. Betrayed at Nicea, betrayed by their former brothers in the invasion of Prospero and finally betrayed by their own Primarch during that process the Thousand Sons are certainly the most tragic legion out there. Despite all of their hard won knowledge and wisdom they can't understand, at the very end, what is happening to them and why. I look forward to see what is coming next. I can't imagine what would get me not to buy this set when it is released. |

Well that is definitely a pre-heresy Ahzek Ahriman and the left over bits of power armor are Mk3 iron armor with what appears to be a space wolf logo in the middle so I do think that Prospero will be next. It is probably set to coincide with forgeworld's next book release that targets the Burning of Prospero. Oh greater note is that the box set is rumored to have plastic adept us custodes and sisters of silence. Forgeworld is also supposed to be releasing Prospero Spireguard as well. |

You might want to hurry. Rumours are that this might come out in September. That sounds like a great boxed set if there are Adeptus Custodes and Sisters of silence in it. |

I have a feeling that the box will fly off the shelves if there are Custodes in there… so many people have made conversions of them and other companies have made 'not-Custodes' that there must surely be a market for them. It seems that GW is beginning to understand the hidden gems they have in their fluff catalogue at last. What next… new Squats? :D! |

I would think so too, but I thought that would be the case with BaC and according to the local stores it didn't. It sold steadily and well but didn't "fly." I'm excited about this. I'll have a set, Custodes or not. |

And don't forget sisters. That was one of mt favoriete parts of the book "AThousand Sons", when the TS marines where blowing the sisters apart with thier "majics". |

What I don't understand is why, 28,000 years in the future, the forces of the Heresy look like they came out of an H.G. Wells novel. |

Probably a similar reason why medicine in 1450 AD looks like it came out a sewage system when Roman military medicine in 150 AD was so good. |

Isn't the 'pre-history' for the 40K world that Earth was a post apocalyptic wasteland when the Emperor took over and then the Emperor's 'death' led to the Imperium being in a technological decline since they don't actually understand most of the technology they use and the most advanced designs have been replaced with more basic designs over time (even then they aren't that knowledgeable on that tech either). If my memory of the fluff is correct (time and rewrites might have rendered all that defunct) then I can well understand why the tech level is a mixture of lower and higher tech…….personally I was never that great a fan of 40K but I never really had a problem with the background fluff. |

Seeing the finished model it definitely looks like it is a 30K set. There aren't any obvious chaos symbols on it, the dead space wolf figure is wearing MK III armour. It might not be Ahriman though. It could be a named character from the rumoured forth coming boxed set. Hopefully that will be announced next weekend. |

There are a number of rumors that the current Betrayal At Calth boxed set will go out of production relatively soon. This is GW they have a history of doing this so those rumors are most likely true. |

They are true. Production for that will be done at the end of next week I believe. It sounds like it is making way for the new Prospero set coming out. |

The figure is finished being painted and it looks sweet. I can't wait for this set to come out.
