Well done! Can I advise something?. When you fix the ratlines, the top must be affixed below the tops and not next. It's a small minor detail. For the rest you have done a good work, congrats! |

Thank you all! Any advice is welcomed – i'm sure that i saw somewhere that ratlines are next to the tops, but again i could be wrong… Assembling and painting is very relaxing, timeless state, so to speak, and i do have intention to get carried away by it,resulting in some strange effects like fixing ratlines all the way to the top of the mast…i noticed that next morning… |

ModelJShip used the wrong terminology. What he meant was that the shrouds should be fixed to the mast itself just below the fighting tops, not to the edges of the tops. The ratlines are the smaller horizontal lines stretched across the shrouds to provide footing for seamen going aloft. I have a couple other corrections for future work. The braces (lines running back from the yard ends) should not be hanging slack, since their function is to keep the yards trimmed at the correct angle to the wind. Also, your running rigging looks too white. It should look more tan to medium brown, being made of hemp fiber, not cotton or some modern synthetic. Otherwise, you did good work. The ship is neatly painted and the sculpting and painting of the base is quite convincing. |

Thank you for advices. @devsoc – i got some French and Spanish hulls,so yes first of many. I learned something new then, now is to late to fix the shrouds or maybe to let it sail on acetone sea for some time :D Running rigging is not white as seen on pics, they are light brown-yellowish,photo camera seems to be unable to catch many shades of light collors. So i repainted it more darker and added trail behind the ship. For the braces maybe i still can do something… [URL=https://imageshack.com/i/pmhIvUP7j]

We all have our first ships in the middle of our fleets. So do not do any more too her. Learn from her. The next one will be better. I'm talking of the rigging not the painting. that is very sweet. Good luck. Be safe Rory |
