Michigan sent two battalions of "citizen soldiers" storming into Canada. The amphibious assault lasted only a few hours but was successfully turned back. The only casualties are suspected to be some cases of beer that will not live to fight another day. LOL, the stuff you guys have to put up with from us 'mericans!

I always thought that surfboards would be a cool way to invade a beach.

Seems like a good place to try, and an excellent excuse when caught.

Imagine the hullaballoo if someone had actually been able to plant a flag.

Sounds like the good citizens of Sarnia should charge an admission fee. wink

Florida-
Probably wouldn't work. It sounded like the good citizens of Sarnia had to give them bus fare to get back home. Come to think of it, that could have been a good investment!

No bus fare. They would have spent the money on beer!

Sarnia organized the buses and will probably have to foot the charter costs.

Two things about the article

1. Americans do not actually need a passport to enter Canada but will need one when they go back home.

2. There are lots of American Flags along the Detroit and St Clair rivers as a lot of Americans have cottages and a lot fly their flag.

And just a side bar. 30,000+ Canucks joined the US Military during the Vietnam War … There are photos of the Canadian Flag being flown on a tent or two at US military locations/positions in SE Asia. An interesting little known fact … Go Canada !

And how they got back.
