It is sad that they have basically destroyed all of the great comic book heroes….it seems to me that the people at Marvel have no talent left that can come up with new super heroes. |

Well, ya see, it has MAN in it, so its mysog… The PC revolution will never stop on its own, never be satisfied. I'm reminded of C.S. Lewis speaking of the tyranny of, "omnipotent moral busybodies…" They will never stop tormenting because, "they do it with the permission of their own conscience." |

Is this change in name because Marvel writers and editors (but not the fans!) have created a black teenager to become the new Iron Man? If I had the money, I'd buy Marvel comics and put a stop to this PC nonsense! |

What I don't get is why they just don't make new Super Heroes. |

First they made Thor Odinson unworthy so they could give his hammer to a woman. Then they stripped Steve Rogers of the super soldier serum to give the shield to Sam Wilson, and when that wasn't enough they made Steve a Hydra agent. So now Marvel is going to do something to Tony Stark but have him give approval so this 15 year old girl can take over for him…. |

There is the cry for stronger female roles in movies, comics, and TV. That is why the discussion about a female Bond, nor a new agent, but Bond, like the super heroes is now a female. I too think why can't they create something with a strong a female lead, a totally new character. One that is not built on traditional male roles, comprising of same story line almost, same type of clothes or costume, and a very similar name. |

Badass female roles abound without having to do a take-away from the "other gender" Wonder Woman Lara Croft Salt Dana Scully Violet Sarah Conner Ripley Beatrix Alice Jessica Jones Selene Trinity Buffy Black Widow Electra Babydoll River Aeon Nikita Mijo Tank Girl Cleopatra Jones Bloodrayne Off the top of my head… and most need only one name they are so memorable everyone knows the character. Strong female roles are not lacking. Creativity in creating them new instead of reskinning is what is lacking. |

You need not destroy the old to create something new. I really dislike when Hollywood or comics alter an existing character into something new. They value the built in name recognition and fan base and then go on to destroy the very character the fans loved. Then Hollywood or comic companies act surprised that the fans don't love their creation. The Lost in Space movie was an excellent example of that, it bombed.
