I saw this listed under the media section and sought it out. I was so impressed with the service, and then thoroughly delighted with the product and story line that I feel it appropriate to share it.

First the dealing – the book was excellently packed in heavy stiff cardboard and received very timely. So definitely no complaint there, as there is none with anything regarding this book.

The story looked interesting and all art work was full color, so that was a delight. Not only was it in color, but it is obvious from the coloring that the artist had a better than casual knowledge of the subject matter. The British tanks and walkers were in a very good representation of the Battle for France scheme. Then the Germans were equally so, and to my surprise, even the French armor was in French camo! Even such details as the underside of British Hurricane's having the half black half white coloring of the campaign!

The story for me seemed to start off a bit "too jolly" and I was afraid that might ruin it. But as I stayed with it, it very quickly reflected the initial casual air of the opening phases of the Battle for France that quickly brought reality home. So the initial impact was actually well done.

This one is just EXCELLENT as a Weird WWII graphic novel, and has more than one could hope for. I won't go into details here but let each new reader discover it for themselves.

Bottom line for me – I really, really enjoyed this book, and found it an absolute pleasure to deal with the publisher. Now I wish they'd make a movie of it!

Time for a Kickstarter?

Thanks for the review. It's nice to know that people have noticed the amount of research I've done. It could have been better, like hunting down accurate weather conditions for each day of the May campaign, but then I'd never be able to start work on the extra material for Volume 2. And I've got to work on the next episodes for the next issue of Aurora.

Does this book have a name? I don't see it anywhere in the review and the title of the post doesn't seem to help. Did I miss something?

As far as I know it is just "Alfie's Tenners Vol 1". Here's the link where I ordered mine.

Thanks, Terry.

Duh…I did a search for "Alfie's Tenners A Gamer's Review" and came up empty for the book. Searching for "Alfie's Tenners" just never entered my mind.

No worry, happy to help. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
