I look for African native figures in European dress. Just to make it more difficult I would like them in true 25mm. Along the same lines I believe I could use American civil war confederate infantry with a few modifications as long as the would match up in 25mm. |

Maybe some of the plastic sets? I believe Hat does several useful sets, Ruga Ruga, Askaris etc. |

Are you looking for armed askari or something else? |

Paint them with the appropriate skin tone and any figure will do, no? |

Scruby Boers do not have beards. |

The size is the issue. I plan to use them for German southwest Africa. I hope that any figure would match up with my Ral Partha/Frontier collection. |

Look at the old Foundry Americana Western range, done in a lot smaller style than their later ranges, there are some negro character figures and a great many of the rest can be used as africans in european style clothing. Hope this helps |

That would be my advice as well; I think you will find Foundry on the smaller end of the size spectrum. You might also want to pop over to the Historifigs site to see what Scruby miniatures are available. |

Are we talking about the Khoikhoi people if so Europeans painted dark would be closer than any African mini I have seen in any range as manufacturers tend to base their Africans on Bantu types. x42 Edit: One of their leaders as a sample link |

Thank you all for the advise. Looks like there are some very good suggestions here. Vince |

So you're using them for German Southwest Africa. Which conflict: the Herero War, the Nama Wars? |

Most likely the Herero war. |
