1962 US/Danish film (with John Agar!) running on CometTV this month. Stole from Ray Bradbury's "Mars Is Heaven". Budget: $75,000. USD Funny about the title. Why didn't they just call it-- Oh. Yeah. |

Actually, quite good for the price. Saw it as a child and it has held up quite well. |

Indeed, much better in color than the the way I first saw it, way back when, on a tiny black-and-white TV. In fact,a number of the old ones I thought were silly turned out,on seeing them much later,to have been better than I remembered. I was disappointed with "The Monolith Monsters" first time around, because I felt cheated by the "monsters". It's really a pretty nifty, straightforward little SF film, with a Jack Arnold flavor: youtu.be/PJfgsIM6jAc I did always like the robots from "Target Earth",even if you had to endure people arguing for a hour, before you got to the good part (sort of like TMP!): youtu.be/HYh9JRplfmo "Aim for his face!" Yeah. Good luck with that. . . |
