For my first (non-vehicle) foray into German WW2 forces, I tried my hand at German Kriegsmarine. In addition to their naval operations, Kriegsmarine infantry units took part in land operations from Danzig, Narvik, the Channel Islands, to the final defense of Germany itself. This is the full line of Tsuba Miniatures' "Red Sailors" and they are absolutely beautiful miniatures, well worth the money.

Did you order them direct or go through a dealer?

I agree about the quality of Tsuba's miniatures. I have a good sized force of the Japanese for Interwar games and they are superb. I order direct (I think that's the only way they are available.)

I ordered them through Empress with no problems

Grubby Tanks/Kellys Heroes has a nice range in 20mm too for other scale options………

Didn't know Empress had them. Glad to see they are getting more available.

These are great figures, intended for the Freikorps wars in Germany in the years following the Great War, for which I have been using mine. Very nicely painted. I had not thought of using them for the Nazi era as they are armed with MP-18 and 08-15MG. Is the uniform close?

I have been using the Bolt Action Kriegsmarine for WW2 games, but they are too late in the war to do Operation Sealion projects.

What we need are some good 1938-40 German naval figures.

I can't speak to the MP-18 but you can see photographs of MG08-15s and even 08s in the lead up to WW2.

The bigger problem is that you won't see them being used in the way that the figure is ;-)
