Is Sharpe Practice in its 2nd edition?

I'm looking for something about the same scale as SAGA.

Sharp Practice is indeed in its 2nd edition. The rule book covers mid 18th- mid 19th century.

The Napoleonic example lists are Peninsular. An example French core force up to 1812 is 4 leaders, 4 groups of 8 line infantry and 2 groups of 6 skirmishers. To this you can add additional groups (including cavalry and artillery) or specialists. An example French core 'light column' is 3 leaders, 3 groups of 8 voltigeurs, 2 groups of 6 skirmishers, 1 group of 8 dragoons.

Regards

Edward

There is a muzzle-loader variant of The Rules With No Name that appeared in an old magazine. It was intended for the petite guerre portions of the Seven Years War, but would work equally well for Napoleonics. I think the title was something like Grenzer or Pandour, but I'm not sure.

I think these may have been the ones in WI111 and WI112.

There are also loads of other Sharpe Practice lists available for free from the TFL Blog or Forum. Everything from Napoleonic lists, to Boshin Wars or Fenian Raids.

the TFL site is a great resource for all sorts of support and ideas and scenarios for their products. Sharp Practice 2 is a great set of rules (along with Chain of Command for ww2)

Sharp practice by all means. You can spice it up at will with more role play if you wish; can ( as I do) have one mini=2+ real guys and be sort of " grand skirmish" and it then makes sense to have two different types of units. A throurough good rule. Even fun in solo, my sorry lot these days.
