So, here is a trivia question. During WW2, which nation launched the first air raid against the Japanese mainland using medium bombers? When was it and what type of aircraft was used? If you, like me, guessed the Doolittle raid, you are wrong.

I would dispute the idea that the Japanese raids on Shanghai were the first "transoceanic" bombing. There were raids flown between northern Germany and Great Britain in WW1. And not just by Zeppelins, either. German Riesenflugzeuge and British Handley Pages both made such sorties. I can't see that the East China Sea is any more oceanic than the North Sea.
