Prague capitulated today after a 6 week siege. The 25 Austrian regiments were allowed to march out with their arms and standards, but had to sign a 2 month parole. This great news for Prussia was unfortunately followed by the news that the Schweidnitz fortress had capitulated to an Austrian army under Daun. It seems that rather than try to relieve Prague, Daun invaded Silesia and started to "gather" Prussian fortresses. He is now moving on Glogau and then the Prussian heartland! The "word" in Bohemia is that Frederick is rapidly moving to "save" Silesia before the campaign season ends! |

What rules are you using for the campaign? |

Lascaris, We use "The Campaigns of Frederick the Great" by 3W. This is a board game published in 1993. Primarily, we use the game for the map and counters with numerous changes to the rules to fit Wargaming with figures. I think you can still buy the game on EBAY for about $40.00 USD. For the actual battlefield/terrain I access old period maps (oldmaps.geolib.cz) on the internet or in some cases use Google maps….realizing of course that the terrain may have changed….especially with regard to roads, forests, towns and villages. |
