I like them and could use them in a few games I own.

I think Zombies in the Old West are as easy as "they all sprang up from the cemetery!" or the undertaker's building. I haven't done any Undead Old West gaming, but I wouldn't mind giving it a whirl. Could make for an interesting small add-on for Shoot N' Skedaddle but I don't know how much interest there is for this kind of thing.

If all the town folk are zeds, what keeps them in town – habit like the mall walkers in DotD movie? If they are kept in town, what do they do between "meals?" Floss? How are they sprung on the party that comes across the town, and what keeps the party there?

White men violate an Indian sacred spot causing the spirits guarding it to attack them and turn them into zombies who go on to attack the town killing/turning all the townspeople. Having completed their vengeance the zombies retreat into the various town buildings and go dormant.

Years later some travelers wander into the ghost town seeking shelter from bad weather (thunderstorm/dust storm/tornado/whatever). Or perhaps they are a gang of bank robbers hiding out from a posse.

Aside from some scattered bones from the townspeople killed and eaten years before the travelers find nothing unusual. The scent of living humans causes the zombies to stir. During the night the horses flee for some "unknown" reason. The living are now trapped in the town with the dead.

It is left to the student to complete the remainder of this exercise.
