Just wondering if any manufacturers produce a 15mm dismounted cataphract (Seleukid, Parthian, Sassanid…?), preferably with a sword.

Looking to make a cataphractus gladiator.

Cheers.

The only one I know of was a Steve Shaw figure so now part of the Bloody Day range and he had his contos in two hands, shield on arm.

Thistle & Rose had dismounted Sassanid Cataphracts. Don't know if the new owners will manufacture them.

Viking Forge has the old Asgard line with a dismounted Sassanid clibanari -

That might not be too bad to convert from that one handed spear hold.

A cataphractarius gladiator would not resemble a dismounted cataphract cavalryman. It describes a very heavily armored gladiator.

Many thanks for the suggestions so far. None hitting the nail on the head for my immediate vision, but it may be that my vision needs revising. :)

@Winston Smith, I realise that, but as one of the theories is that they developed out of Parthian prisoners of war, I see no reason why their armour might not, at least in part, reflect actual Parthian cataphracts.

As a significant factor in the games was the theatrical appearance, having someone in a cataphract cavalry style armor would be consistent.
