Yes, Donald Hickey is well respected historian for the War of 1812, so this will likely be a buy for me. Thanks for the link. |

First of its kind since 2010 when Fredriksen's compilation was published. Interestingly enough Hickey wrote the foreword. Rick |

"Donald Hickey is well respected historian for the War of 1812" So why use a highly inaccurate subtitle? Or is that to be blamed on the publisher? |

I have the book and the material is excellent. It definitely shows that the acquisition of Canada was not a US war aim and that the negotiations at Ghent began with the British demanding to keep the territory that they occupied. There is material from the Duke of Wellington regarding the peace treaty and other material. This is highly recommended for anyone interested in the War of 1812. |
