I am going to start basing figures for these rules but there are some unclear issues with the rules. I am trying to see if the rule writer is available here as the Yahoo group appears to be inactive.

Never heard of these rules, unless these are the free ones a chap emailed me some time ago…no, just checked and those are called Demi-Brigades in the Desert. Where does one find Desaix in the Desert?

My error regarding the name. I should have referred to Demi-Brigades in the Desert.

Oddly enough, I found a set entitled With Desaix in the Desert:

What are your basing questions, Skeets? Perhaps between the two of us we can iron them out. If beyond basing, I probably could not help as I haven't played these rules.

My only basing question is regarding the Loss Markers and increasing the figures used to make calculating losses easier:

On page 2 it refers to Casualty Caps known as Loss Marks. On page 3 these are used to indicated levels of losses (25%, 50%,75% and 100%). I believe that these losses refer to figure losses. If this is the case do you round up? I have been thinking of increasing 3 figure stands to 4, 5 figure stands to 6 and the 6 figure stands to 8. I believe this should be ok as the number of figures to a stand are irrelevant.

Will McNally wrote a version of these and wrote a set of AWI and French Revolution. The latter two use 2 stands of six figures as a small unit 250 and under. So many units are 4 stands if full size. Maybe this is not his version?
