Just curious to see what colors you chosen (uniform and facings) to get some ideas. |

Black and yellow. Because that color combination is associated with, according to Freudian psychology, suicide. |

A shade of purple coats. Think it annoys one of my fellow gamers ? <lol> |

Mine are sort of WSS period based. The infantry of one army has largely light grey with various colour facings. The other is rather more old fashioned with different colour coats for each regiment. |
RittervonBek | 13 Aug 2016 12:08 a.m. PST |
My wife's army Hessen-Beckstein is largely lavender for the infantry. The plumes and cockades are violet across all arms of service. The guard battalion is known as the tattered regiment and is in grey with mid blue facings. They are also known as "the bears". Guess the inspiration. :) |
Martin Rapier | 13 Aug 2016 1:41 a.m. PST |
Mine are all based on real uniforms, nineteenth century Danish and Prussian. |

link Redgrave = Red Bluderia = Blue Empire (capital = Silverfern) = White Greenglade = Green Grayrock = Gray Very imaginative, I know. I originally built the armies in 2mm (I have since moved up to 3mm) so I never chose facing colors. |
Rich Bliss | 13 Aug 2016 6:31 a.m. PST |
Lower Monrovian infantry wear Brown with a variety of facing colors. The cavalry uniforms are at the whim of the colonel (he's paying for them, after all) and range from black trimmed n silver to orange with black facings and everything else in between. Their allies in Cheddaristan typically fight I green uniforms with yellow facings. |

My Yerbouti Presidential Guard were just made to look classy (red and white, I think – haven't looked at them for a while). Their regular Army was inspired, IIRC by the old 12" GI Joe Jungle guy with the short sleeved camo top and tan pants. |

Litharus is based on historic Russian uniforms except for my total fantasy units like the jager half-battalion. Even the garrison battalions are relatively historic (not much information available). |
Buff Orpington | 13 Aug 2016 9:22 a.m. PST |
Rather boringly the armies of Borscht pretty much follow Russian schemes although I have played with toning down the red and have yet to decide on the correct shade of orange for the artillery. |
rmaker | 13 Aug 2016 9:27 a.m. PST |
Axphain, green. Ruritania, dark blue.. Dawsbergen, light blue. Graustark, red/black. |
JCBJCB | 13 Aug 2016 3:58 p.m. PST |
I based my Imagination ("Kluster-stein") on a merged principality: one half has uniforms inspired by the Pittsburgh Steelers (black and "old" gold, with white as an accent) and THE Ohio State Buckeyes (scarlet and grey). My enemies are, of course, brown and orange, black and orange, and putrid yellow and blue. |

The Army of Princess Trixie of Saxe-Burlap und Schleswig beerstein is pink for the most part. The Line Infantry, three of the Light Cavalry Regiments, two of the heavy cavalry are that color with facing colors of Saxe Burlap Regiment- White Regiment Reisundshine – Red Hesse Herbox- Light Blue Hesse Hydrox- Orange Hesse Hyjynx- Black Regiment Trunz and Taxis- Yellow (The regimental motto is "The Yellow Rose of Taxis is the only girl for me). Regiment Floatsam und Jetzam (Royal Marine) is dark blue. Regiment Saxe-Hillbilliehausen – Grey The light infantry is in dark purple- Regiment Alt Mac Donald has red facings, Yung Macdonald has green facings. There is an Irish-Italian regiment (MacChiavelli) and many more. The army of Bad Zu Wurst under Faustus the Grump is pretty Prussian-Hessian looking. The Kingdom of Floucne is in white coats with the various regiments having different facing Colors. Gorre & Daphetid, Snivelle et Whinnie, L'Arches D'Or, Regiment Duc Du Daffi, and so forth. The army of the Grand Duke of the Grand Duchy of Gorgonzola is a dear departed friends collection of S.A.E's which I keep in memory of him in its original colors. The army of Ikea, the Turkish Army has units in a riot of color. The Army of Gulagia, my latest project in 18th century Imagi-Nations will have lavender coats. The real fun is the colors and standards most of which are quite ornate and have puns on them. |

How cool! Such a wide variety. JCBJCB I was JUST thinking NFL colors as I scrolled down… then I saw your post! Being a Steeler fan myself I love your idea… the OSU colors not so much being a PSU alumni. I was considering purples too, but he price of purple die (coming from those snails) may be hard on Psuedonia's treasury. |

As teenagers my brothers and I drew up a map of an imagi-continent, including large and small nations and city-states. Later I randomly allocated WRG "Armies" to each nation, with a ridiculously ambitious plan to build 15mm armies for each. I got as far as buying and painting 4 elements of hoplites and an elephant for one of the city-states. The colour scheme was blue and orange |

The ranks of the Nottoman Empire are generally semi-uniformed, with coatees or waistcoats in grass green, worn over civilian clothing. Non-uniform clothing varies from fine white burnooses for the gentry to dirty unbleached cloth for the fellahin. The Nottoman equivalent of 'facing coloured' items are skullcaps, scarves and waist sashes. Arm-of-service colours are red for cavalry, black for artillery, sunflower yellow for marines, and cerise for guards. (Infantry units were painted with individual 'regimental' colours, before I got myself organised with a planned colour system!) Elite units might have leatherwork – straps, scabbards, cartridge boxes and bridlery – in facing colours. |

My own Schoeffen-Buschhagen troops tend to be Prussian-inspired in colors. Other NQSYW players have chosen less historically influenced uniforms.

My three infantry regiments (to date) have red, yellow, and buff turnbacks. I've done the grenadier contingent for a fourth with white. Given that I'm using Charge! 59 man regiments and 40mm Prince August figures, four is about the limit for reasonable tabletop play. |

My East Transdneistria Border Police wear something like the US Chocolate Chip camo. I used Tiger Mini's Dutch Colonials for the figs. |

Karl von Hessen, most of my flags come from David at Not By appointment, the same person who devised the uniform templates. I am contemplating a series of French style flag but with Gold pineapples instead of Fleur d'Lyr.Some of the flagds there are based on Vaunbanner Graphics . link |

Mine double as Reichsarmee when necessary so the infantry are dark blue (incl trousers, unlike Reichsarmee) though the Duchess' Own Fusiliers pink mitres raise a few eyebrows,
….but I've splashed out a bit on the cavalry (various colours for Cuirassiersm dragoons and hussars), artillery (claret and blue) and Jaegers (Austrian Loden Green attempt) |
spontoon | 21 Aug 2016 3:30 p.m. PST |
Mine are in just about every colour. As the army consists of historical units of all my wargaming armies that wear mirlitons, there's a great variety of colour. I haven't found any historical cuirassier that wore mirlitons yet, so I may have to make an exception. |
Marc at work | 24 Aug 2016 4:03 a.m. PST |
Mine are white – very French style, with coloured facings, for my Duchy of Auberge forces. The first contingent of my Pancreatic League are in red, again with coloured facings. Why? Because I was inspired by the Grants so wanted to do a white army. And I like shading red uniforms with a dip. My brothers are in greys and blue/grey, so early French style perhaps? I recently finished some artillery in green (previous were in blue and red). I tend to favour "realistic" colours – just because my nations didn't exist doesn't mean to me that they need to be fictitious . The next ones will be in cornflower blue for one side (sort of Bavarians) and yellow (no idea why – reckon it will take the brown dip nicely). |

I used the models of the Red Lancers, but the coats are dark green. The trousers are still red. |

Just getting into imaginations and finally found use for figures I painted too long ago. The Grand Duchy of Chardonay currently fields three infantry battalions, one squadron of cuirassiers, two squadrons of hussars, and two light guns. All uniformed with a decidedly French flavor. Their future worthy opponents of the Electorate of Anhalt- Reistersbourg, have only a single battalion of foreign infantry, The Electoral Hibernian Regt., deserters from the clutches of their foreign oppressors. However the martial aspirations of the Elector will require an expanded force of all arms. The Elector being an admirer of the Great Frederick, it can only be assumed that his soldiers will be uniformed as befits their leader's choice of heroes. |

Saxe Burlap und Schleswig Beerstein Pink for the infantry with a sprinkling of others. Grand Duchy of the Grand Duke of Gorgonzola- All colors, they rent out the costumes from the chorus for the various Operas the Duke loves. Flounce- White Gulagia- Magenta The Kingdom of Bad Zu Wurst- Navy. Ikea (Turkey) The Benenjerries (Jannisaries) are the colors of sherberts. The rest are in rags. |
