Just the tip? Are we still doing phrasing? Well played, Sir! And would it be a sword or a bayonet tip? Were swords still a GI item at this point (excluding cavalry, which I assume still carried sabers). |

The regular infantry battalions, at least, of the Mexican army do seem to have carried a short, curved sword, and other elite companies/units probably did as well. Detailed info is scanty and inconsistent, particularly when it comes to campaign dress as opposed to regulation dress. Militia infantry battalions probably were not as likely to be so well equipped. The light infantry (cazadores) and zapadores who carried the imported Baker rifle undoubtedly had the sword bayonets to go with these, too. |
