"Professor Hall arrived in spring 2009 and is the first person to hold this military history position. He earned his bachelor's degree at the U.S. Military Academy and has 15 years experience as an active duty infantry officer and strategic planner. In addition, he holds master's and doctoral degrees from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Professor Hall is particularly intrigued by Native Americans and their relationship with the U.S. military. He is author of "Uncommon Defense: Indian Allies in the Black Hawk War" and is currently researching military history of Indian removal in the southeastern U.S. In his presentation, Hall will focus on the imagery of the American Indian in World War II and contrast that with actual service…"
