Has anyone used the WAB Forum Armies Lists? If so, how did it work for you? Do the lists have period flavor? Are they balanced?

I compared some of the Forum armies with those in the official WAB period books, and there are differences, but not sure if that makes a difference.

Since it is hard to get your hands on the old army lists, then I suppose home-grown is the way to go.

I've not used the forum lists myself. I wonder if they're like the army lists in the supplements, which work great when played in period, but can unbalance (as the intention as I understand it was for in period games) when matching armies from different books?
