I've seen a TON of videos on how to make your own trees, and while some look brilliant, I'm wondering if I want to spend that much time making trees.

Do you make your own or buy?

If you buy them, where do you get your trees from?

Thanks

Hi

I can see the attraction in hand-making some trees but my time is limited. I use this seller on eBay that is reliable:-

I'm with ya Grumpy….just got married and I can already see my gaming time dwindling!…it's ok….she's worth it :)

Thanks for the Ebay link

Those trees look nice. Guess I could spray adhesive them and add some flock when/if needed.

Or you can contact TreeGirl and get some trees from her. She is currently out of the country, but is due back in 1 week. Being almost 11 now, she still has some time available for tree manufacturing.

I don't buy those tree prices for a nano second – unless they are per each tree. Could be wrong.

For deciduous, Woodland Scenics. For Conifers, Noch (they actually have a bit of a trunk). A little pricey but easy to source at any local model railroad shop of any worth.

I don't know about the shop above but I have bought from this one and like them a lot. Not as nice as Woodland Scenics but nowhere near the work either – and they are far more sturdy.

A friend of mine bought some small scale trees from We-be-honest and while the price is hard to beat, the trees were very flimsy.

If you have one nearby, it would be worth a visit to a model rail store, they have plenty of the 'loo brush' type tress. These are cheap and effective enough to give you a good start.

My guide for Making Trees and Woods hope it helps.

Take care

For 10mm – bought trees from China

Spraying on some highlight (shading from bottom) and a little drybrushing will make a huge difference

Too busy to send a picture right now but if you want I can

Thanks

Thanks John

I'm still leery of buying the Chinese tress off Ebay. I've seen first hand how flimsy they are, but made with some added paint, pva and flock they can be made a bit more rugged.

I did get a $100 USD Hobby Town gift card so maybe I'll buy some Woodland Scenic tress with that :)
